Wee Chi Chihuahua's

The following information is not intended to replace the advice of you pets veterinarian. These are solely the opinion of myself and the schedule I follow with my dogs under the advice of my vet. Always check with your vet for the medical care of your puppy/dog. Always have your new puppy seen by your veterinarian as soon as possible after bringing them home.

Vaccines

I vaccinate all of my puppies when they are 6-8 weeks of age. I use a 5-way vaccination combined with the corona virus vaccine.

They will then be scheduled to recieve 2 more boosters of the same vaccine at 3-4 week intervals.

Yearly check ups, additional vaccines and boosters are recomended unless otherwise indicated by your vet.

Deworming

I deworm all puppies with "Strongid T" starting at 2 weeks of age and continue every 2 weeks until they are 3 months old.

I then suggest to deworm them every month until they are 6 months of age.

Also after 6 months, it is suggested to use a heartworm preventative medication that is effective against hookworms and roundworms.  

I then deworm 4 times yearly according to the adult schedule set out by my vet.

Female are dewormed once prior to breeding, once at whelping and concurrent with puppies.
