Prenatal Care

All of my chihuahuas are cared for very closely by my vet and myself. Their health is first and foremost important to me so I have my females checked before, durring and after breeding. This is to assure that they are in optimal health and it is safe to have a litter of puppies. Any female that I own, who requires a c-section for any reason, will be spayed at the same time. Having puppies never takes presidence over the life of any of my girls! My females always recieve an x-ray in the last week of pregnancy to measure puppy head size in relation to pelvis size. Chihuahuas are notorious for having troubles whelping, so this is very important to me to help predict any problems. I also have a puppy count and check positioning of the babies. I am always present at the time of whelping to welcome the little ones into this world (to give them their first kisses!) and to support my little moms. Being a nurse myself, I watch for any signs of trouble and if there are, its off to the vet!!  They need just as much emotional support as we do in this process. Raising these dogs is pure joy and I can't imagine not having them in my life. My wish is to place healthy, well sociallized chihuahua puppies in loving family homes where they will be appreciated and loved as much as I love them.

They live very long lives (compared to other breeds) so they need forever families!!
